INTERNSHIP
We are seeking dynamic interns with a passion and interest for media arts to join Meet & Teach this summer! This position will assist Site Directors with the coordination and delivery of the Meet & Teach media arts curriculum within select high school across South Suburban Chicago.
Interns will support and manage students through the creative processes of videography, photography, music production, graphic design, brand development and other skills related to media arts.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
This is a paid 10-week internship starting June 2022. Interns will be expected to be onsite 3 hours per day, 5 days per week, and will be rewarded a competitive stipend.
Please note: Interns will be assigned to one of three school sites. Schools are located in South Holland, Dolton, and Harvey, IL.
Training is required prior to working with students.
All applicants must complete and pass a background check to enter the schools.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Internalize the Meet & Teach curriculum and relate this information in an engaging manner

Assist and lead a small group of high-school students in at least one of the following areas: Videography, Photography, Music Production, Graphic Design, or Brand Development

Foster a safe and engaging environment for students

Collect student forms and data, keep a record of daily student attendance, and keep accurate inventory of program equipment

Promote active participation of students

Attend organization design/planning meetings, workshops, and trainings as required

Work collaboratively with other interns and workshop directors
-
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Provide regular feedback to Program Directors and Executive Team to strengthen the program experience for students

Alongside Site Director and School Leadership Team, support with the safe dismissal of students from program workshops and events

Alongside site School Leadership Team, manage student behavior issues and emergencies as they may arise
-
Report student behavior issues and emergencies to the Site Director urgently and promptly

Maintain a clean and respectful program spaces/classrooms, in alignment with assigned school site standards

Serve as an adult mentor and trusted resource to students across school sites
AREA OF SPECIALTY REQUIREMENTS
(Interns will choose one area of specialty)
VIDEOGRAPHY
Interns interested in leading the videography workshop must be proficient in using DSLR cameras, able to demonstrate their knowledge on all controls and functions of the camera, and proficient at filming, video editing (using Final Cut Pro X or similar softwares), and lighting.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Interns interested in the photography workshop must be proficient in using DSLR cameras, able to demonstrate their knowledge on all functions and features of the camera, must understand exposure, must comprehend depth of field, and must have knowledge of capturing and editing photos using editing software (Adobe Lightroom or similar softwares).
MUSIC PRODUCTION
Interns interested in the music production workshop must be familiar in using Logic Pro X music recording software (or similar softwares), able to demonstrate how to set up a recording session for vocals, and must have basic knowledge of producing beats and mixing music.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Interns interested in graphic design must be able to assist students with design of promotional graphics, logos and other advertising and marketing materials as needed.
BRAND DEVELOPMENT
Interns interested in brand development must be able to help students cultivate their brand as an artist, talent, or entrepreneur. This means everything from image & branding, marketing & social media, and more.
